Rex cuttings.
When I remove a Rex leaf, with stem, if it is marked, I usually, as described previously, place it in a container with a smaller container, with holes, inside the larger container, with approx; a half inch of water ( see photos).
I firstly trim the leaf, place it in water, as well as the stem.
These are placed on the kitchen window sill facing North.
As you can see, both stems and leaf cuttings have rooted. They root in three to four weeks, however, I leave them for about six weeks, so more roots develop, before placing a couple of cuttings in a 3.5 inch pot.
These will be placed on a propagator set around 70F/ 20C to hasten the root system, until Christmas, then the temp; will be turned down to around 12C, to overwinter.
